Broken Morrow

Here I am again before you mirror
mirror on this ever so cold wall for
you to see the unluckiest maiden of all.
You have seen me always staring
at a blank, emotionless, perhaps even
sad face.

The glitter in my eyes long gone.
Praying to God to bestow upon me
his divine grace

But what do I get instead?
It's difficult for me to say.
My heart cannot feel any more pain.
The knight came galloping atop his
precious horse

From a distance I saw him reaching
my ice castle and I began to breathe
again. Being ever so careful
not wake the dragon who
would incinerate all his senses.
Unfreezing from pristine snow the tempest
stuck inside this Polar Vortex of emotions.

Rapidly and almost diabolically
my mechanical heart began pumping
blood, precious blood that needs oxygen
to survive another morrow
He did not know I am filled with sorrow
Whilst I latched at my soul from running.

The dim lights in my eyes became
much brighter; although doubt
cluttered my senses for in the end he
sped away leaving me restless

The knight thus yielding Excalibur
and with his tender yet despotic
vengeance ripped my ailing heart
into zillion parts. Before yes,
before he felt my caresses

I lie here dying on this frozen floor
the wind in my soul long gone.
Extending my hands to him to
forgive me.
But he does not hear me

I die before him as he turns his
back and with his stallion rides
away into the sunrise.
Thus, I remain
gathering the pieces of my
broken heart.

Picking up each piece.
Remembering the horseman
who saw me die and did not
extend his hand to pick me up.
